This is not a very meaningful statement. Do you intend to say that a person on H4 cannot cook or clean his/her house? These are also clearly "work".
Only meaningful restriction can be that a person on H4 cannot be engaged in an employer-employee relationship with a US company. In other words, a US company/individual cannot pay this individual for his/her work. Whether an Indian company is paying his/her cannot be controlled by the US laws. If that person, say, goes everyday to a physical office on the US and works there, then one may try to argue that it is really the US based branch who is paying him/her, which will be a violation. However, if s/he telecommutes from her home to India, then I really fail to see how can s/he be violating anything.
The bottomline is that all argument boils down to the definition of "work". Do you have a reference that defines the word "work" in the context of H visa?

i had applied for 3 extension in May, in June when all dates were current i was given 1 year extension . After July 2nd ,as they became unavailable again my emailed my attorney and she spoke with USCIS and without having to reapply i was given extension till 2010.

Hello all,
is it normal for someone to get their EAD approved before the AP. I just got my EAD approved yesterday and my wife got hers approved today. However, out AP applications are not approved yet.
I have some co workers who got their EAD and AP approved on the same day.
so just wondering if there could be something wrong or is this normal.
Our cases are in Texas.

I find that fireworks mx is really cool for doing what you are trying to do if you can get your hands on it. Oh yeah and I think you should antialias the text a little bit. If you want honest opinions....I think the image could use a little jazzing up....Try this:
Find a nice big panoramic image like of a beach or something.. Then give it a real big gaussian blur (so that you cannt recoginze what it was)......U should already notice it looks similar to a gradient. 2. The give it a strong motion blur to the left or right (to soften the image) 3. Then do a an adjustment...hue.....and play with the saturation and settings. (You should have a pretty nice gradient looking abstract at this point). 4. Then duplicate the layer and play with that layers blend mode. I find luminosity to be cool but find one to suit your needs. That will make your text and image seem more interesting....right now it looks kinda dead in the water......I find gradients by themselves to be boring this day in age (most of the time). Let me know if you need a more indepth tutorial....this one was kinda weak but....hey

I have been out of client project after May 15th 2009. I work for a major Consulting company and have been on Bench since then. Got laid off on June 22nd 2009 due to lack of work in these tough times. For the past 5 weeks, I have tried to find a project through various job sites and could not succeed to get even one client interview due to various reasons. One major reason being Billing Rate, which was not fine with my previous employer.
I am aware that my current stay is not legal anymore and have to wind up things here and leave US at the earliest. I would be getting my last paycheck till this week(June 26th 2009).
Not sure how much more time it will take for me to get a job. Can anyone advise how long can I stay here to find a project/job(if lucky to get one soon) and be able to transfer my H1 without any issues.
Please advise as I am in dilemma to stay in USA and try for 1 more month or go back to India at the earliest to find a job there, though the situation is bad there too.

I have recently changed my job using AC21. My new employer has filed H-1B transfer and I also had two years of EAD
While filling up the I-9 form I have used EAD alien #, when I checked the emplyer HR they said that I-9 stays in the office and they do not send its copy to USCIS so my question is how USCIS knows that whether I am on EAD or H-1 B ?
Can I treat myself on EAD and H-1B both

I can't find any reference on this forum to E2 investors. We are the skilled, motivated entrepreneurs who come here, invest heavily, employ citizens and have no path to permanent residence. Our children must return to their country of origin at age 21, regardless of how long they have lived here. We ourselves must renew our visas regularly and live in fear of denial.
E2 investors need support in our quest for reform. Is there any room in your organization for us? We will go anywhere and do anything to raise awareness of the injustice of the current immigration laws. The DREAM Act was (thankfully) defeated yet again and should continue to be defeated until it includes all immigrant children, not just illegals.
Those of us who come here legally should be at the top of the list when it comes to reform. Can we band together to make our voice even louder?

This case is complicated as your I485 is already approved. If you refile your wife's I485, it might get rejected.
I would suggest you to not rely on forums and get an expert lawyer's help ASAP. It will be worth it.
I have to apply for my wife as my derivative of 485. My 485 was approved on July 8th 2010. Below is the timeline
July 1st - Applied Wife's 485
July 8th - My 485 was approved
July 13th - Wife's 485 Denied due to outdated forms
July 14th - My H1, Wife's H4 and I-94 Expired
July 19th - Planning on sending a new 485 application for spouse
I'm mainly concerned about two things
1. Is she out of status for 5 days from July 14th to 19th
2. Can I still apply her as a derivative, as my 485 is already approved.
