I believe Apple did go with a larger sensor in the iPhone 4.
They kept the same pixel size as from before, but made the sensor larger to increase the number of pixels. It's also uses backlit illumination, per Steve Jobs.

Ok no one cares about iPod nanos. We want Merom MacBook Pros!!!!!
Amen.
I'm ready to buy a new 17". My current laptop is under a year old, which normally would mean I could get another year of use out of it.
But the move to Intel is too epic of a performance jump, so I am going to upgrade out of cycle.
My needs/wants for the refreshed MBP:
1. 160gig drive
2. Better/modern GPU
3. Lower the power cord wattage so you can charge your MBP on international flights (a massive oversight by Apple.)
4. No heat, fan, build, uneven screen backlighting, etc., quality issues.

Anyone have experience with this chair? The price is great and I like the design. Not sure about ergonomics and durability though.
I have a similar chair that I got from Tesco in the UK, and its really comfortable and sturdy.

No, thanks. I don't wanna have to wear these stupid-looking glasses every time I need to use the iPad and look like a total dork.

There using a GLASSES-LESS 3D screen that is y it is significant, the red/blue glasses will work with any screen if the image is in that format, that is y it works in any tv.

Oh god, please let this be true. I almost wish Macrumors didn't post this because it seems like a very unreliable source... It's gotten my hopes up and I'd almost rather not know and just be surprised when it happens! Fingers crossed that the wait is almost over...

Who the hell wants to watch movie on an iPod. You can't even watch 2 hours of video on the current iPod...think...the battery like will be even WORSE with a larger screen?!?!?
I want a merom macbook pro...right now!!!! I might buy a freeken dell if i have to wait any longer...and I hate windows... I am hoping they will update it on the website tomorrow...tues. sept. 5th....not likely though since they will need a new logic boards because they soldered the core duo chips in...how stupid. Hopefully they will make some other updates since they have to re-do stuff anyway.
Who cares about a new nano also...the current one is fine

Just going to put this right here:
"What would I do? I'd shut it down and give the money back to the shareholders" -Michael Dell
I do love that quote. Of all the Winbox makers Dell seems to be the one with the bleakest future. I'm hoping HP can do something with Palm and not waste an opportunity to increase diversity in the market. But this is HP, they seem more interested in making printers (which are still a pain to set up) than innovating in the computer market. (I'd love it if they'd innovate in the printer market and make a network printer that isn't a complete pain.)

A child does not naturally grow up to be socially responsible or kind. They naturally grow up to be self-centered and violent unless a parent or authority teaches them otherwise.
As negative as I think religion can be, it has set a code of conduct for people that enables cooperation and empathy for others. Although we don't need religion to teach people morals, we need some agreed upon code of conduct.
You might say that the laws of a country serve that purpose, but they don't. They are simply rules everyone must follow and any despotic ruler can set awful laws that can hurt people. Therefore, the code of conduct has to be separate from the law.
If atheism has any future, its needs some type of unified, agreed upon code.

On a full sized computer? That's horrible. Adobe has to get their act together and make flash more efficient before they can be allowed on the iphone.
Well, yes. That's a point that's been repeated, and replied to, ad nauseum.
One more time:
Remaking Flash 10 for more efficient mobile use is exactly what Adobe is trying to do, with the help of ARM designers.
If it runs well, full Flash could become popular on mobiles* as a universal application development and delivery platform. If it doesn't run well, it'll have to wait until cpus get faster.
* With the probable early exception of the iPhone.

Besides Apple usually pimps up the iPhone before the iPad and the next iPhone won't have 3D...
"Usually?" There's only been one revision of the iPad since its initial release, so it's a little early to try to point to any consistent pattern.

Odd that it isn't also at 1 infinite loop. Hmmm, maybe this is their 'area 51' of sorts. I feel a conspiracy coming on.
Nah dude, the battery division is in a different building :-)
3rd Gen iPod Touch update - 409Mb
1st Gen iPad update - 593Mb
Wonder why such a big difference in download size when neither have things like Face Time...

*next* Tuesday ;)
Merom in the iMacIntel does leave a space in the lineup for the Conroe Mini-Tower.
When they come out and we both buy one, can we have a little MacRumours party topic? We can dance all night long! ;)
I would be so happy!

BS. 3G was fully matured at the time of release of the first Iphone. It had been commercially adopted for over 5 years at that point in time.
Finally the truth. I know because I've been using 3G phones since the first day AT&T rolled them out. Call quality was immediately improved as was data transfer speeds. The various phones sold in those years all demonstrated the distinct advantage.
Apple and their biased partners in the blogosphere are the masters of spin.
Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Apple enthusiast, but I'm a bigger supporter of the truth.
Hopefully when the day arrives that Jobs moves on, integrity, ethics and truth will be allowed back into the organization.

I hope they brighten the interface a bit. I find it too dark. Also i hope some of the buttons become drop down buttons. It looks way more cluttered then FCP7.
all the improvements i have seen are major approvements. Even though this is an early demo. bravo, apple.
edit: or give us the advanced and regular version UI ;) all buttons that have shortcuts i dont see need for in the UI for an everyday user like me.

After reading this article (http://gizmodo.com/343246/what-to-expect-at-macworld-2008-and-why-we-think-it-will-bigger-than-usual) I think that it's entirely possible that Apple are altering their branding. Also the lack of an Apple logo could be explained by the fact that everyone at the expo would recognise it as them anyway and it adds to the air of secrecy and mystery that they love to use in their marketing.

Because it's a ridiculous feature that only retards, who have been brainwashed into thinking it's cool, want, but the rest of us who will never use it (or even go out of their way to avoid it) will pay for.
The human brain is capable of decoding depth out of an image using a myriad of other clues (such as occlusion) and the use of the stereoscopic effect is, in my opinion, overrated. It just results in blurred or jarred motion and a crap viewing experience.
Just because you might find 3D fun doesn't make you "brainwashed". In fact... because you seem to be so anti-3D... you might be the one that is brainwashed

Again, you're lying and have again, misinterpreted my posts.
"You suggsted we rally around some cause."
No, i suggested people contact Apple in some form, be it email, letter, fax or petition.
"You never quantified what that something was."
See above.
"Good point. You win."
It's not about winning you arrogant buffoon. Neither of us has "won" anything in this whole thread, i've been trying to point out to you time and time again, that the things we are arguing about are very similar, and yet you continue on a rampage of lies and misinterpretations.
You see you, Nipsy, make arguments for the sake of looking good to your "audience". You don't hope to achieve anything constructive by making an argument, other than looking good and padding your ego by using sarcasm and making the other person look as bad as you can. You fabricate points in your replies when the person your replying to has made no such point, and if you are as intelligent as you say you are, i can only assume that you are doing that on purpose.
An intellectual person will try to make constructive comments, and contribute to some kind of solution, you however, do not.
I agree with you on most of your points, Nipsy, as i have said many times ("Good points").
If you want a one man show, go on stage or become a politician. They fabricate lies and will do anything to come across as though they're making a good point, when they're not, too.

Its nothing to do with skin color and everything to do with a large portion growing up in single parent families that don't teach their children anything about being respectful human beings. I don't buy that racism causes this. It's their choice whether to remain a family after conceiving a child, money has little to do with it.
