Seems like NVARS has introduced a new process which is supposed to be more streamlined for getting appointment online but I am not sure of some of it's verbage.
We want to ensure that applicants already in the scheduling process are not negatively impacted by the change. In order to ensure you receive the visa services you have paid for, please review the guidance below regarding transition timetables.
* Applicants who have already scheduled an appointment at a U.S. consulate on or after September 1, 2010 through NVARS:
If you have already scheduled to attend an appointment through NVARS, please pay your MRV fee prior to September 1, 2010 and bring your Scotiabank receipt with you to your appointment. If you have not already scheduled an appointment, we recommend that you wait until September 1, 2010 or later to pay the MRV fee and register through the new service.
I highlighted the text in bold. My appointment is scheduled for Vancouver on Sept 8. What does this mean to me? Will I need to be physically in Canada prior to September 1, to be able to go to a Scotia bank and make payment there? This is insane. I still haven't gotten my canadian visa stamped on my passport so I can enter Canada.

I visited the SSN office with My I797, State ID and Passport : SSN officer straightforwardly rejected as I dont have my EAD card.
The Officer asked me to visit USCIS office to apply for EAD.
Please help me with this situation..Does a H1 get an EAD and then a SSN?

Sounds like someone at SSN office who may not know much about immigration.
If your I 797 came with attached I94, then you certainly can apply for SSN card. Just ask for supervisor at the SS office and talk to them.
If your I 797 does not have attached I 94 (meaning that you are still in H4 status), then I do not know for sure what the procedure would be to apply for SS card.

If you are at office and can not call from your desk do the following
Please call in suppoirt of Cantwell Amendment
1. Print the phone numbers
2. Print the talking points
3. Take your cell phone and call from your Car in the parking lot
Make as many calls as you can squeeze in. No number is too small or too large

My case is something like this
Currently I am on h1( completed 1 year) working in construction industry. My profile consist of Bachelors from India and Masters from USA.
The company I work for is not willing to go ahead with my green card. ( With the economy going south, its not wise to jump). But know a company who liked my profile and is willing to sponsor my green card-EB2. The reason they are not willing to hire now is due to economy, but willing to help me in my GC process before hiring and might pick me up at first opportunity.
Something like this: I am employed for Company A on h1 and company B is willing to do my paperwork as a future potential employee?
I had various concerns:
>> Is green card application based on future employment possible, (as in my situation)?
>> GC takes 4-5 yrs to process. What if they decide not to hire me?
>> What are the risk factors involved on my side as well as on Companies side who is sponsoring my GC?

My PERM application requires experience as a 'systems analyst' in XYZ technology and i have experience/affidavit letters reflecting progressive experience in XYZ technology from last 7 years with minor difference in wording of job duties.
We are seeking EB2 classification based on "five years of progressively responsible experience", i also have certifications in XYZ technology from last 3 to 4 years (not before starting work in XYZ technology) but i'm not sure if including these will help/complicate the case.. Could you please advise..Also, please give any additional points to take care while filing 140 with EB2 classification based on "five years of progressively responsible experience".

Wait for 6 months since Receipt Date... And then complain to DOL... You don't want to lose your I-140...

Guess what you should only travel by First class, If you travel by economy they will catch you..... :))
Jokes aside, You should be ok your H1B extension/stamping has nothing to do with which Airlines you travel, How many stops you will make etc.. Some countries have restrictions if you don't have valid visa during transit. Check with Airlines.

My understanding is, while your AOS is pending, you're in parolee status.
You are only a "parolee" if you used Advance Parole to enter the US. Some people don't get AP, or don't use it.

Miguy, check ERAS carefully- there are two places for your visa status: one- your curent visa and the other your visa status when you will join the residency, July 2008. For the second, you need to put EAD if you do not have it in had now. Most programs know what EAD is, but you may need to give an explanation to others...

Unless your parents have SSN, you can't really claim exemption. The other way you could claim exemption is, if they visitied for business reasons - such as running your motel, shop or business. For that, you'd need the B1 visa. Medical expenses are not really covered for them as far as I know (I used an insurance company for that).
Do post any further updates if you do get them. I did talk to a CPA since they came here to help me with my house and moving and painting and all that headache that comes once you buy a house. He did not file for exemptions as such. You can however claim exemptions if you had gone to India for visa stamping (flight tickets, charges etc are exempted).

there are two things about visa one is stamp and other is status. if you maintained the same status in USA as you are going for stamping you will answer yes.
eg. you had a H1 stamp that expired in 2006 but you had extended that status and only now getting it stamped then you will answer yes.
but if you had a prev stamp of F1 and then changed to H1 and going for H1 stamping then you will answer no.
For H4 are they asking sepeartely, because you will answer yes in your case and then add yoor daughter to your appointment.
You are only answering for yourself when you say yes, i dont think there is any misrepresentation involved.

Is there any impact on AC-21 guys.... I changed my attorney to Fragomen after using AC-21....
My labor filed back in 2002 by different attorney and approved in a year.... Now I wonder if there is any impact on my case since I'm using Fragomen as my attorney while AOS is pending....

As far as I believe, you should not have any problem whatsoever in getting your H1B visa from Company B stamped in your passp
ort. You need to carry all relevant documents related to H1B (including old H1B approvals, old passport (if any), employment credentials, proof of address, W2 forms, etc) so that you're not caught unawares during the H1B visa validation process. Before you board the flight back to the US with your new H1B visa, the US Immigration/Customs counter will issue you a new I-94.
God forbid, even if they deny your H1B visa from your new employer, you should still be able to return to the US on the expired H1B visa since you made an honest H1B visa trip.
