He has said before that he dresses the way he does because he doesn't give a **** what anyone thinks about him.
I think it is very telling for Microsoft that they weren't represented there. You had Yahoo!, Cisco Systems, Twitter
Oracle, NetFlix, Apple, Genentech, Google, The Westly Group, and Facebook.
Its all about respect for the office. The others are wearing jackets and/or button-up shirts. Just because you don't give a ____ does not mean you have to be disrespectful and show your lack of class.

Personally, I can't see how Apple could be seen to be the good guys in this case, given they're sending cease-and-desist letters to people using 'pod' (not "iPod") in their product names.
I'm actually reversing myself here, now that I've gotten a chance to read it. This isn't a true C&D letter, in fact, they're only opening up a dialog. Also, the pod reference is specific to content loaded onto portable media players, not 'pod' in general. Seems reasonable to me.

Yeah but some states have increased or set taxes virtually on everything and still managed to overspend their budget *cough*California*cough*.
I've lived virtually my whole life in California and have no clue what you're talking about.
Perhaps you can source that.
As for balance, I'm a big believer in it. In my opinion an "balanced" solution includes tax increases as well as government cuts. Unfortunately, the republicans have fought tooth and nail against tax increases and have tried to balance a 26 billion dollar deficit with cuts. If only they embraced the notion of "balance".

...if you're selling soap.
You are wrong.
Proven by Apples rising market share.;)
You cant keep saying that these ads are hurting apple if they keep selling more and more computers.
It makes no sense.
I dont find the Apple guy smug at all. I find him very confident and sure of himself.

sry people, no update yet.
I didn't find the time to work on the new features last week. But, today i picked up the work again. I will probably be able to put out a new version by the end of this week. So don't despair...
If you don't see an update before monday next week you can start nagging, a tiny bit ;)
Cheers

Unless reporting someone to the FBI counts as "aiding and abetting" I don't agree.
I didn't realize assisting in procuring abortion for child prostitutes counted as reporting to the FBI
mea culpa
Have the idiots said why exactly they want to kill Planned Parenthood? Is it because they claim most of Planned Parenthood's budget goes towards abortion, (which is not true)? I was watching Bill Mahr last night and the conservative on his panel said that originally the Tea Bagger movement claimed to be about money, budget issues, taxes. But the PP show down over the federal budget shows that they also have a social agenda.
If they are truly worried about paying for welfare, you'd think they'd be thrilled if the low income families were popping out less babies by means of contraception...
People are a nation's greatest asset. Planned Parenthood should not be funded by the government, all incoming money goes into one pot and then distributed thus some money goes towards abortions.

I hope the super secret features aren't already in the preview (or at least disabled). If they were active, I'm sure people would be saying "wow that's a cool new feature!" Since I haven't heard any of that, and the secret stuff is active, then I guess Apple's making a mountain out of a molehill.

I often check into places just so I can see if any of my friends are there also (sporting events, concerts, etc). If you want to "check out" all you do is go to your profile and delete your check in.

Well, music and Sony. ;)
I'd love to see RATM win just for the fun of it, but I reckon the fact that Joe's single is going on sale in shops will win it. Killing in the Name was out in 1992? There won't be any physical copies to buy, and that'll make all the difference...

While I obviously think this prediction is just a load of crap, I would NOT mind a larger screen on the iPhone. Not too big to comfortably carry in a pocket or hold up to my ear. A 4.5" would be nice, I think. Definitely not a nano-sized phone.

The apple provided tableview cells have their own rules about size and positions of their labels and imageview. If you write a subclass and override layoutSubviews you can adjust the imageview according to your rules.
Ah, I did not know that! Thanks a lot - I will take a look at it in the documentation. I was assuming I could treat it like a normal image and that did not work :-)

IDC talks about revenues and number of boxes. I'm talking about actual environnements. ;)
One day, when you work in IT, you'll understand what the real workhorse of the industry is.
Hey...get with the times man, "unix god complex" has been out of style for over a decade! :D

Can anyone confirm that the update does not make the Mac Pro noisier?
In the past Apple has repeatedly upgraded fan speeds by these updates a couple of months AFTER all reviews had been written. I had once bought my Powerbook G4 (besides other aspects) because it was very quite. A few SMC updates later the fan was running continuously and as such probably lowering average temperatur and service return rate for Apple.

It is so much easier to abort than to raise a child.
Are you suggesting it is harder to abort than to raise a child?
Until you've done both, and lived with the consequences, your opinion is worthless.
