I work as a consultant for one of the big 5 firms implementing SAP applications. What is the job code referenced for this job? I want to know the job category it falls under as per the Dictionary of Occupation Title or the O*Net published by DOL. My company did not provide me this information but any help will be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you get the EVL in the same title as in your LC .Whatever is your title is currently not relevant to GC since GC is for future employement not for current employement what you perform.

Translate it. Sign a letter of your compretence of English ? Hindi language & get it notarized. It is that easy. Do not waste a signle penny on translation. I have been doing it for ages.

Well How do you know that all the members who are registered with IV is aware of this Webfax? Did you guys notify them in anyway? Do you expect/mandate all the IV members should be checking the website/forums all the time? No Hard feeling.... Just my 2 cents

1) The immigration debate is really hot. Monday is when the action starts. its not something 2 years down the line. Hence, we hope that members keep on updating themselves by visiting the site regularly
2) We cannot send an email everytime we want to send a webfax because initially we were thinking of sending a new fax every 2 days last week. But on advise of QGA, we decided to send only one fax. If we had gone the route of sending a fax every 2 days, would it be appropriate to send an email every two days? We do not want to associate IV's newsletter with some junkmail that comes everyday!

I filed my i 140 and i 485 on Dec 23rd 2003 under EB3 category. I think my labor was filed under EB3 category. My Priority date is Mid August 2003. After 180 days of filing (around Nov 2004) I left my sponsoring company and joined another company with similar Job responsibility (to avail AC21), But didn't get my H1b transferred to new company. My new job require Master degree and 5 years of experience. I have acquired my master degree before joining my new company. I got married recently and Ofcourse I can't file for my wife's i 485 since I am from India and visa numbers are not available.
Can I get my H1Bvisa transferred to new employer if he is willing to sponsor?

My Wife wanted to join a school for some course. We decided to apply for FAFSA to pay for School fees. I am not sure whether she is eligible to apply for FAFSA or not.
Can some Guru shed some lights on this?
By the way, she is on H4 but we have our EAD. She has not started using her EAD as of yet.

We went to SanJose Charcote dr. last saturday. Our appointment was at 3pm. But we went at around 1PM as our daughter has a tutoring class between 2-4. They accepted and let us do at 1:15pm. It is cool and not much croud. There are around 10 FP machines and took about 15 min to finish. Our LUD changed next day on our 485 applications. But check the address one day before the appointment. As it shows 122 charcote dr. inside But outside you would see 5 digit numbers and you would easly miss. Also you will not see USCIS on outside board(it shows as some Application center).

Diptam, at this moment the best thing will be to get your wife an independent status.
She can get on to F-1 visa or file an H-1B visa. If your H-1B is being canceled for sure, then you need to move her on to an independent visa status.
Please talk to an attorney and evaluate all the options. I will say you need to act as fast as possible.

1) I agree with all who are asking you to quit and get your H1-B transfered, but my concern is whether your H1-B is still valid or not as your I-140 has been revoked or is still in consideration.
You can search for a company and file for a transfer and can still stay with this company till you get an answer. You can hold multiple H1-B's at the same time.
2) Time taken for an H1-B approval varies, it all depends on your fate.
I would suggest that you give $1000 and get it premium and you would get an answer in two weeks.

I am July 23rd concurent Filer (Texas service Center), day before yesterday received FP notice but no other reciepts. wrote email to Lawyer to update.

along with my above post, we applied for H1B/H4 renewal yesterday even though she is working on her EAD now.
H1 renewal i can understand but you need not apply for h4 renewal if your wife is working on EAD. Because if she wants to come back on h4, she always can and does not need h4 to be renewed now.

It's hard to predict EB-2 vs. EB-3 movement but I would think that an earlier PD is the way to go.

My uncles GC's and Indian passports were stolen a few years back. it took them 6 months to get a new card, you cannot leave the country. Other than that they did not have major issues. File a police report keep copies of the report and all correspondence in safe deposit box. As a precaution put a hold on your credit at the 3 credit agencies.

From my experience, if you file EAD/AP by yourself, all communications regarding EAD/AP will go to you. No need to file G-28. If you want all I-485 communication rerouted to you, you need to file G-28 and put yourself as a representative.
I could not find age restriction for EAD, you may try to file. However there are legal restrictions on child labor in US so I really doubt they will issue EAD for a minor (under 14 years). My friend cound not get EAD for 12 year old.

ekauraaya, i didnt mean to sound like the police, but your post did sound a bit harsh. if you didnt intend it then i am sorry as well. the reason i am so touchy is because me and my wife just got done paying off a $25,000 credit card bill that we accumulated while i was a student. no, we werent splurging like crazy to buy the latest gadgets. this was survival stuff like groceries and gas that we had to encounter while in graduate school and being married at the same time, with no financial support from family and very little stipend from university. so we know what its like to live in that nightmare. thank god we are done with it. luckily we never missed any payments and have good credit scores but we know the stress of having a huge debt through bad circumstances even if one is not a spendthrift.
So when you mentioned "goof-ups" to the other guy without knowing his actual history, that set me off on a tirade.
Thats all. no ill feelings to anyone. hope you understand

The work you do in your OPT must be in your field of studies. You are likely violating immigration rules during your OPT period as well unless your degree was in secretarial work or real estate (I do not know of any such degree ...)

I am in tough situation. Hope you can help me. I applied and got OPT card on DEC-2007. I thought I can complete my MASTER's by that time but one of my proff gave me D grade and according to University rules, I cannot graduate if I have D grade in Graduating Semester(Even though I have 3.09 GPA including that subject). Right now I enrolled in an online course and I will graduating in MAY2008, at the same time I am in Consultancy who are applying for my H1. They don't have any idea about my Case and are really confused when I gave the Graduation status letter that was issued by our University.
This is the matter that I have in my Graduate Status letter.
"This is to verify that harish is graduate student in good standing, currently working on Master of Science degree with a major in Electrical Engineering. He has successfully completed 30 of the 33 required hours of enrollment on his graduate plan of study, and is currently enrolled in the remaining three hours. He has passed his exit examination, and has submitted his application for the degree for the spring semester of 2008. Provided that he successfully completes his final enrollment, he would be awarded his degree. Spring 2008 degrees will be officially conferred on May 26th, 2008. Diplomas and official transcripts that display spring awards will become available approximately the third week of July, 2008"
Is this enough to apply for H1 in Master's Quota? if not what is the right way to apply and get H1 safely. I am planning to apply H1 with Bachelors even to be on safe side but we all know the chance of getting H1 with Bachelors is very less.
Please help me what to do with this situation and having letter from the university.
I believe that you need the actual diploma (you send a photocopy of it to USCIS) for getting counted in the M.S. quota. Most schools give the diploma once you have finished all requirements.
