Generally it is little difficult to sponsor a GC through one's own business. USCIS wants to know if it is a legitimate business, with revenues, employees, contracts etc

Travelling on AP needs only your passport and the AP.
Supporting documents could be I-485 receipt, i-140 approval notice, other visa approval notices, recent paystubs and a 2 sentence employement letter from your current job.
Port of Entry is much simpler compared to the consulate. At the consulate, they can deny visa even if you have all the information. At Port of Entry, they are usually just looking to make sure you are coming in with a valid document. So i personally feel you should be Ok to travel.
Having a baby is not going to carry any weight at the port of entry. The IO is looking for validity of documents and not going to yeild for any pleading.
Just slide the AP documents in the photo page of your passport and let the IO know that you are entering on Advance Parole. Do not say more than what is asked for. Do not give more documents until the IO requests. They will ask you if they need. It is very simple.
Typically, they will send you to a secondary inspection. you submit the documents and wait for them to call. They will stamp the AP and give you one copy.
Philadelphia IO officers were very very friendly. I recommend Philadelphia if you are too worried.

Is copy of approved I140 required for filing ?
Will just having a receipt notice of I140 do? My 140 is approved but I don't have the approval only the copy of the receipt notice.
I understand that attorney is the best to answer this question, but still thought of posting to get an idea to see if it is possible to file 485 without copy of approved I140.

They sent an biometric appointment on 8/10. Not sure if it was becasue I called them or the address change.

Also got an email from CRIS saying "additional info needed" not sure if they mean the biometrics or they need something else.
anyways, just wanted to let you know that its taking time but its comming. saw a lot of people inmy same boat.

No, it is not legal.
I just checked and it seems that you are right.
It is against immigration rules to work in any form or manner on an H-4 visa. The immigration rules clearly state that H4 visa status holders can only do voluntary work.

I called up USCIS - Number: 1-800-375-5283, If you don't have a receipt number and want to get one Touch Key options to press are : 1-2-2-6-2-2-1
You need to say that your application is more than 90 days old, else you will be kicked out.
If you say that your application is more than 90 days old then you will be transferred to another person who will give you the receipt numbers.
For the record there should be one receipt number for each applicant (your dependents and you)) for each document (485, 131, 765)

Since I did my master's here. I think they filed my case under EB1...I need to re-check. If this is the case then how long does it take. Yes I'm an indian.
EB1, EB2 and EB3 depend NOT on your personal qualifications but on the job requirements, which are:
EB3 - BS or BS+<5 yrs
EB2 - BS+>5 yrs or MS
EB1 - PhD
Find out from your employer or from the job ad that you've been hired for. Good Luck!

I went to the infopass to inquire about the "additional review" letter I got from TSC. Officer did some search and told me the following " this case is in transit to an officer TODAY, just 30 minutes before. you dont have to worry about this notice". He also said that call us back in 45 days .. I did fax all the details to the Senator but am not sure whether this resulted from the inquiry.

- 485/765/131 submitted in Aug. Receipts are in with Oct 1 as the date. Why would they mark a date in October on the notice even though they physically received the applications on Aug 15th?

- My H1 will expire by the end of the year. Should I be concerned? Do I have to do anything if I receive the EAD before it expires? Assume a case where I get my EAD approved and for some reason, my wife who is on H1, fails to get her EAD before the end of this year. Do I have to file for her extension, or take some other action?
- When can a person safely switch his/her employer? 180 days after filing the application or after receiving I485 approval?
- Can a spouse work on the basis of the receipt notice from USCIS, or does she need to have the EAD approval?
- How long (currently) would it take to receive the Green Card in hand? Are there enough numbers available with USCIS to allot GCs to almost everyone who qualifies?
- Would I get the fingerprinting notice directly or would my employer receive it?

Currently i am asking my employer to refund me the Medical expenses that they have been charging me without my knowledge. Since they are not responding back to my questions, i have threatened them that i will pursue for my GC expenses also that they promised to cover (also documented in my offer letter).
My current status is EAD and i no longer work for that Employer and i am out of job and looking for employment right now.

-Currently on their H1 (6th year fag end) and with an ongoing 485 proces 180 days passed.
-Employer A is threatening to withdraw the I 140 if I move out from their company.
Employer B:
-Fortune Client where am currently working as a contractor
-B is filing my H1 and would be offering me to use H1 or AC 21 to port to their company.
I am transferring to company B upon H1 extension approval and then later use AC 21 when ever required.
However, before I use AC 21, if the approved I 140 is revoked, am I still eligible to use AC 21?

Just noticed that my lawyer has attached marriage certificate of my co-worker in the dependendent's petition. I am waiting for the receipt.
What are the impacts of this mistake? To compound the issue, my wife is flying out next week for a month to India.
Gurus any answers on this is deeply appreciated.
I am pretty sure there could be an RFE or explanation for such kinds of goof ups . I am also sure such goof ups by attorneys are not the first time USCIS must have expierienced ,so they will understand. High volume filings can lead to errors/mistakes

I am almost 100% sure that if you applied before your F1 status expired you will be fine (as long as you didn't work).

That is just very Basic stuff from my training courses and seminars. I don't have any of my own work I have done recently because most of that was done at my friends house before I got my own place, and I have no way of acquiring that work, but I will make some more stuff tonight.
