ICICI can not predict rather no one can predict what will be the exchange rate tomorrow. The minimum forex transaction at dealer level is for $1 mil. So, they can't promise you some rate the moment you hit the submit button. They will pool all the transactions like yours and then do a big contract together. ICICI provides lot of other services which SBI will not in terms of convenience. And ICICI deals big time in forex transactions. In this market the guy with biggest transactions will have lowest cost and depending on competition will have incentive to pass it on to you as an end user. They might time it within a particular time frame but that is something unavoidable.

We have used the following plan over past 3-4 years (though never had to file a claim)... it offers coverage for pre-existing conditions as well...
Visitor Health Insurance, Pre-existing condition coverage, AIU (http://www..org/)
Any insurance is good until you have to use it. It is nice that you didn't have to use it.
However, the fact remains that the 's plan is a fixed coverage plan that has sub-limits for each and every procedure. That means, it wll only pay a fixed amount and you will pay the difference yourself which can be a big amount.
It is always better to buy comprehensive coverage plans that have no sub-limits.

On the other hand if some one gives me a look based on how I look, they will give it even after I get my GC and Citizenship. The mugger will not ask me my visa status. I get mugged even after I became a citizen.
That's why I say it - You are the victim. You should care.
This is not to support the inactivity. I appreciate the efforts put in by one and all and I believe those actions help reduce the suffering.
This is just to point out the fact that some members wittingly or unwittingly suggesting that not having GC is cause for all problems. It certainly help alleviate some but it is not a cure all.
Once again I am merely trying to they are two different issues.
Real issue in both situations is inaction which is harming our community.

We have these 3 bills in House. Thats fine. But what about Senate. There is only 1 bill in Senate. Should we also persuade some senator to place similar bills there ?

Guys it is really upto you to decide how much you are willing to contribute towards something which will change your future. I'm on 7th year H1B extension I pay $200 for my dependents visas. I am going to my home country and I'm paying close to $600 for Visa stamping, plus pain for doing all the paper work, and pain of taking a visa interview after living 7 years here. We don't get anything done then this visa will expire in 6 months, so another $200 for visa, another $600 for stamping, another form & another filing and above all another sleepless night. This is endless, we need to support this effort, please contribute generously.

Unfortunately, country of birth for PD determination is one thing that cannot change. It is ridiculous that a country like the US that promotes itself as a meritocracy and a country of second chances ties the fate of EB applicants to such an immutable parameter.
I understand that your priority date is based on country of birth. I have read that you can use your spouse's country of birth. What if you have nationality in a country for over 20yrs but born in India. My parents emigrated to Europe when I was three months old, and I was naturalised there. The spouse rule doesn't apply to me because my wife is born in India too. Is there a rule anywhere that makes you eligibile to file under a particular quota if you had nationality in that country for a VERY long time? I was told no, so throwing this out to the group for advice. No hopes that I will hear otherwise.

I did a quick search and did not find answer to this. Apologise if this is a repost.
But a co-worker of mine wants to travel on AP. After coming back, he will join my company (right now he is a contractor) as a perm employee on H1. Is it possible and allowed? Can he transfer H1 after using AP?
Our company attorney confirmed that his H1B will remain valid even after using AP. But she is not sure about transfer. I will post her reply once she gets back to him. But in meantime, if anyone has any idea about this, please share.

As you may know, we are just one more week away from hosting Advocacy day in Washington DC where about 170 members of Immigration Voice will conduct nearly 250 meetings with offices of Senators and Congressmen. Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.
